Our four Hospice Care Centers throughout Pasco, Hernando and Citrus counties provide short-term care in times of medical crisis when complicated symptoms or pain require round-the-clock medical attention.

A patient may be discharged from the hospital directly to a Hospice Care Center in order to relieve complex pain or nausea, respiratory distress, or other complicated symptoms. Or, a patient who has been cared for at home may spend a few days in a Hospice Care Center to stabilize their condition in order to return home.

Each facility is staffed round the clock by HPH Hospice (HPH) RNs, LPNs and home health aides. Hospice physicians visit patients seven days a week and personal physicians are encouraged, but not required, to see their patients and participate in the delivery of highly individualized care plans. Patients and families also receive regular visits from counselors and clergy while volunteers are continually present to offer comforting words and support.

All HPH Care Centers are designed to ensure the best provision of hospice services and the highest level of comfort. Nurses’ stations are very close to patient rooms and wall to wall carpeting, artwork and wallpaper offer special touches. Each patient suite, including the bed, is decorated in lovely oak furniture. Family members are welcome and encouraged to stay at the Hospice Care Center and sleep in their loved one’s room as a sleeper sofa or recliner is provided. Suites also have their own coffee table, armoire, private or semi-private bath and are equipped with a TV, DVD/CD player and clock radio.

Snacks are always provided for family members at HPH Care Centers. In the free-standing facilities, there is a large country kitchen where HPH staff and volunteers prepare meals for family members and visitors as well as for patients.

From the moment you walk in the front door of an HPH Care Center, you’ll know the difference. In addition to the pleasant, homelike décor, you’ll find knowledgeable and empathetic staff and volunteers. That’s because our Hospice Care Centers cater to individuals and you can expect us to treat you as such.
