A Compliment from the St. Petersburg Times
We’re very honored that Lance Aram Rothstein, a well-respected St. Petersburg Times photographer, selected two HPH stories that he chronicled through photographs as his 2008 favorites. In Pasco County, Lance chose the “snow story” in which a pediatric patient under the South Pasco team’s care awoke to a front yard transformed into a winter wonderland. In Hernando County, Lance picked the morning he spent with one of our elderly patients at a Golf, Etc. in Spring Hill where HPH West Hernando team members arranged for a few hours of virtual golf. Both of Lance’s photos ran again this past week in The Times’ Pasco and Hernando editions.
Legacy Program Captures Memories
The Legacy Program, which provides patients with the opportunities to share life experiences and words of wisdom on DVD, was the subject of a lead story in the Tampa Tribune, Pasco edition, on Saturday, December 6. The HPH Hospice (HPH) patient, who lives in New Port Richey, recalled her childhood days and hearing about the man on the moon. When she turned 60, she got to see one of the most “memorable moments of her life.” Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong walking on the moon! To read the story, go to HPH’s website. Three photos, not included, made the piece really come to life. HPH thanks the New Port Richey Rotary Club for its ongoing financial support of this great program.

Upcoming Stories in the St. Petersburg Times
Watch the St. Petersburg Times (Pasco and perhaps Hernando editions) for a sizable feature story on Dr. David McGrew, HPH medical director, and the fact that he has won the Josephina B. Mango Distinguished Hospice Physician award. This is a national honor. The interview/photos wrap today. Also, Laura Finch, bereavement manager, was interviewed by the Pasco Times for a story about coping with grief during the holiday season.
Boy with cancer gets a winter wonderland wish fulfilled
The story about a West Pasco child who is on our program appeared on the front page of TBT.com in addition to being a lead story in the Pasco Times.
Another Swing at the Green
