When it comes to compassion, HPH Hospice (formerly known as Hernando-Pasco Hospice) volunteers have it in their hearts. Whether they’re 14 years old or 90 plus, most say that they are here because they “want to give back.” While the majority of HPH volunteers have had a hospice experience, all share a desire to help others.

Volunteer opportunities continue to increase as HPH serves more patients and families in Pasco, Hernando and Citrus counties. Volunteers are like family to one another and our staff. They are part of our team. Volunteering for HPH is a great place to forge new friendships and receive a fulfilling feeling knowing that you are making a difference in someone’s life.

There are some HPH volunteers who enjoy interacting with patients and families while others prefer to do something else. The beauty of our volunteer program is that the choice is up to you. HPH provides a host of opportunities and encourages its volunteers to find their niche with support from a Volunteer Coordinator. Moreover, we love to hear from our volunteers and we listen. Many wonderful programs have been initiated by people like you!

Volunteering is a commitment, and HPH believes its volunteers should enjoy their service and feel appreciated. HPH volunteers give of their time weekly, monthly or seasonally. Service hours are provided for high school students, too. All prospective volunteers must complete an application and interview before participating in a new volunteer orientation.

HPH offers its volunteers annual appreciation luncheons, team building opportunities, continuing education and the ongoing opportunity to give us feedback. We also have a quarterly newsletter. You’ll always have the support of a Volunteer Coordinator near you and many volunteers who will give you a warm welcome.
